The Gracious Foundation was founded in 2017 by Grace Nyawira Wachira, inspired by her personal struggles and deep empathy for vulnerable communities in Kenya. Her vision took root in 2008 when she witnessed a child faint from hunger at a school in Githurai, a moment that reminded her of her own hardships. Determined to make a difference, she mobilized her neighbors to provide meals for underprivileged children, starting with 180 students at Githurai Kimbo Primary School. This small act of kindness grew into a larger movement, eventually becoming the Gracious Foundation.
